Hi! I’m Jack Sillin, and I’ve been watching and writing about the weather for over a decade, first for my home state of Maine on my blogs ForecasterJack and SillinWeather and then for national and international audiences at Weather.us. In my writing, I’ve been especially focused on teaching those without a rigorous scientific background about the atmosphere, and I’m here to continue that effort. I earned my Atmospheric Science degree from Cornell University in 2022, where I conducted research relating to medium-range forecast predictability. I find just about any type of severe weather interesting, from thunderstorms and tornadoes to blizzards and hurricanes. When not writing or otherwise thinking professionally about the weather, you can usually find me outside in the mountains.
