About These Tools

Every calculator and predictor on this page is free to use and requires no account or signup. Our tools are built using official formulas from authoritative sources including the National Weather Service, NOAA, and peer-reviewed meteorological research – the same formulas used by professional forecasters.

We built these tools because we kept getting the same questions from readers: what does the temperature actually feel like outside? Will my weather station’s signal reach the console? How dangerous is this heat index reading? Rather than pointing people to separate government calculators spread across different sites, we wanted to bring everything together in one place.

New tools are added regularly. If you have a suggestion for a calculator you’d like to see, let us know via our contact page.

How Accurate Are These Calculators?

Our wind chill and heat index calculators use the official NWS formulas – the same equations used in every weather app and broadcast forecast in the United States. The signal range predictor is based on manufacturer specifications adjusted with real-world reduction factors from our own hands-on testing. All tools show both imperial and metric units where applicable.

That said, no calculator can account for every real-world variable. Always cross-reference with your local NWS forecast for safety-critical decisions.

Looking for a Weather Station? Our tools work best when paired with accurate local data. See our guide to the best home weather stations of 2026 – tested and reviewed by our team across all price points.
